About Chiapas - Esencia Artesanal

We increased donation for the cause 6.5x as a result of the culturally relevant dance, music, and fashion performances.

Parallel Artistic productions in conjunction with Xitlali designs and Mexican non-profit organization, ConcentrARTE, announced a follow-up to their January 2018 benefit fashion and performance show that collected donations to help survivors of the devastating 2017 earthquake in a new, and more holistic, manner.

International performer and fashion designer, Xitlali, who currently resides in Denver and performs throughout the United States and Mexico derives inspiration for her fashion-forward line of clothing and accessories from the Mexican culture. The partnership between her and Mexican organization, ConcentrARTE was a natural manifestation.

Special guests include Mexican American singer Raquel Garcia, Mexican American designer Marilla Gordillo, prestigious Venezuelan dancer Yulimar Salas, local Mexican folklore ballet company, Mexican rock star Cala (of Rostros Ocultos), and more. ConcentrARTE, in association with organizations such as Pontis Mexico, not only help in the rebuilding of residents ́ homes, but also educate through workshops designed to support resilience in the face of adversity through art.

This production delivered over 6.5x original donations to 303 residents (over 40 families) of Chiapas.
